Bowleaze Cove lies at the eastern end of Weymouth Bay near the village of Overcombe and just to the northeast of Furzy Cliff.
South-facing, the coarse shingle and pebble beach has some patches of sand. Overlooked by the Waterside Holiday Park, Bowleaze Cove has excellent facilities. The beach is popular with families. The small River Jordan empties onto the beach and is often full of youngsters.
As you head east along the beach it tends to be more rocky. Rock pools are another distraction for the young ones. The Cove is great for swimming and watersports. It is also the only beach in Weymouth where jet skis are permitted.
Bowleaze Cove has its own amusement park, as well as a gift shop, café and fish and chip shop, all sited close to the shore.
The short pier on the western side of the beach is a great spot for fishing and offers fine views south towards Portland.
