The Old Rectory Country House The Old Rectory was built in 1850 from Caen stone and was used by the church until the mid 1970s when Queen Elizabeth signed the deeds allowing the house to be sold by the church commissioners. The pretty church of St Michael’s next door is worth a visit. There is a 350 year old yew tree in the garden where where we are visited by badgers, foxes, squirrels, very noisy rooks, a barn owl, a tawny owl and sometimes roe deer early in the morning. There is a drawing room for guests to use and English breakfast is offered in the courtyard conservatory.

Old Church Farm  Situated in the lovely small village of Broadmayne, only ten minutes from the county town of Dorchester, and 15 minutes from the Jurassic Coast, the 17th century Old Church Farm has been beautifully renovated but still retains many of its original features including a 17th century window with some of the original hand spun panes still in place. Wooden beams can be seen throughout the property, and a large inglenook fireplace which still has a Bressumer beam. Many flagstone floors still exist, one contains an inlaid iron horse shoe which according to Saxon (7th century) superstition is said to keep the threshold safe from devils and witches. There is still 18th century wooden wall panelling in the hallway.The property was originally part of the estate belonging to the Tudor King Henry VIII, who subsequently sold the house and its lands to W. B. Talbott whose name is inscribed on wooden panelling in the attic room Guests can enjoy the elegant surroundings of their room where teacoffee making facilities are available along with flat screen T.V. or make use of the large lovely walled garden to sit and relax.For the more energetic who use the area for a vast variety of watersports, walking or cycling we have secure storeage for any equipmentcycles you may have. The property is superbly decorated and furnished in keeping with its' setting in the west wing of an imposing Victorian mansion. Holt Cottage The house stands on high ground and the views are amazing. Holt Cottage is just outside Bishops Caundle and only 5 miles away from the pretty town of Sherborne. The house is 10 miles away from the A303, and just over 2 hours from London. Holt Cottage consists of two apartments, both accessed through their own front door. The upstairs one, with a superking bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and a large sitting room with colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge and WiFi access. The downstairs apartment can either be a twin or a superking double, again with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower over, small sitting room with colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge and WiFi access. The Gresham  The Gresham is located on the Esplanade in Weymouth, with wonderful panoramic views over Weymouth Bay. Its situation puts it within walking distance of the Bus and Train stations as well as the shopping centre. It is also a great base for exploring the surrounding area.The Gresham contains 15 bedrooms over five levels. The Gresham does not have a lift. Most rooms are on-suite, showers are not level access. All rooms are equipped with wall mounted TVDVD combo's.All public spaces, bedrooms and passageways are able to accommodate a standard wheelchair.The dining room is on the ground floor and is accessed from the main entrance hall.There is no parking outside the hotel, however, loading and unloading of passengers and luggage is permitted. Permits are available for on street parking to the rear of the building. During high season garage parking is also available at a nightly charge.Weymouth Train Station is a short walk from the hotel. Kings Way, the allocated coach drop off point, is also a short walk from the hotel. The Old Manor House  The Old Manor House is a Grade II listed victorian property the original part of the building said to be dated around 1840. The house has undergone a complete refurbishment over past two years to endeavour to return it to its former glory and unveil and restore some period features.Mill street is not yet entirely spoilt it still boasts the charm of its old mill houses constructed of local portland stone and enhanced by their stone mullion windows. This rural setting is on the outskirts of Weymouth and approximately only five miles from Dorchester; within a short drive visitors can explore the Jurassic coastline now a World Heritage Site. The dining room has a bright dual aspect with original wooden flooring and working open fireplace as does the reception lounge for guests use. There are two rooms level access on the ground floor one single and one double both en suite plus use of a wet room type bathroom. Lilac Villa  Welcome to Lilac Villa Guest HouseWe are a well established guest house, we have 8 en-suite bedrooms which there are 5 on the ground floor.Well suited for guests with walking difficulties or who just do not do stairs. Those rooms have patio doors leading to garden. The house is situated off the road so it is quiet with parking back and front for all rooms.We have recently finished refurbishing the house including the dining and barsnug area. So you can enjoy a drink and meet friends in the evenings. We are situated about 8 minutes walk from the seafront with a bus stop out side the guest house and that takes 3 minutes. |
